1.- One of the investigative sleuths over at Neogaf has uncovered a recent patent filed by Nintendo regarding the Wii U tablet controller.

The controller itself will include a magnetometer, an IR port, a speaker, a microphone and built-in flash memory. We should hear more from Nintendo about these additions in the near future.


2.- Will we be able to use more than one Wii U tablet controller on the Wii U? That’s something Nintendo has so far failed to clarify. Thankfully one of the writers for the Examiner recently got the chance to ask a Nintendo representative exactly that question.

“Let me correct something that is a misconception. We said that the Wii U system will come with one Wii U controller, but we haven’t said that you can only use one Wii U controller. The fact is that if the developer makes a game or an experience that uses more than one, then anything is possible.”


3.- Katsuya Eguchi, the designer behind established Nintendo games such as Animal Crossing and Yoshi’s Story has told Edge that the company will introduce new franchises with Wii U. In the same way Wii Sports was built around the Wii Eguchi hopes that Nintendo will deliver fresh experiences that are based around the Wii U’s unique controller.

Do you expect the first round of Wii U games to be based on new IP or established characters and series?

Of course, with those fan-favourite IPs, we’ll continue to offer games based on those characters, in those worlds, with the Wii U. but if there are opportunities for us to come up with new iPs that work well with this new system we’ll jump on those as well.

1.- Una de las corrientes investigadoras en Neogaf ha descubierto una reciente patente de Nintendo sobre el controlador de Wii U.

El controlador en sí incluye un magnetómetro, un porte de IR, un altavoz, un micrófono y memoria flash incorporada. Escucharemos más de Nintendo y estas adiciones en el futuro próximo.


2.- ¿Podremos usar más de un controlador de tableta en la WiiU? Eso es algo que Nintendo ha fallado en especificar. Uno de los escritores de Examiner han logrado sonsacar a Nintendo esa respuesta.

“Dejadme corregir algo que es una misconcepción. Dijimos que el sistema de Wii U vendría con un controlador de Wii U, pero no que la Wii U sólo pudiera con uno. Es un hecho que puede con más.”


3.- Katsuya Eguchi, el diseñador de Animal Crossing en la Wii ha dicho que Nintendo está experimentando posibles nuevas franquicias en la Wii U.
