Information Update - Nintendo 3DS

1.- Footage of Kingdom Hearts 3D continues to be uploaded online and you can check after the break for three new videos.
More After the Break...

Despite Nintendo announcing that one of the biggest franchises ever in Japan will be coming to the Nintendo 3DS and Super Mario 3D Land and Mario Kart 7 will be coming later this year, Slash Gear believes that Apple’s iPhone 5 will ‘officially kill’ the Nintendo 3DS
Nintendo: consumers do not and will not care about the 3DS. And the iPhone 5, which will likely come with improved components to help deliver even better gameplay to owners, will make that abundantly clear.

The 3DS is failing right now, more than any other reason, because of smartphones and tablets offering compelling gaming experiences. And when the iPhone 5 launches in the next several weeks, you can expect it to officially kill off the 3DS.

Sorry, Nintendo, but if smartphones and tablets already on store shelves are killing the 3DS, the iPhone 5 might just be enough to put the final nail in the device’s coffin.

2.- Former Capcom head Keiji Inafune who was recently interviewed by 4gamer has revealedthat Capcom outright refused to let him complete Mega Man Legends 3 for the Nintendo 3DS. No doubt this will come as a shocking revelation to the legions of Mega Man fans out there who are desperate to just play the prototype.

“So, I told them that I was going to found my own independent company and leave Capcom. However, I stated that I was ready to make a contract with them so that I could keep working on those projects that I started. I couldn’t start making contracts with other publishers for sure if Capcom agreed to the proposition, but I wanted to see those projects that I started to completion. But it couldn’t be done. They answered, ‘We have no need to do that.’”
“[I went to the trouble of]…Finding the right time, gathering the team members, planning strategies, all so we could barely start on Mega Man Legends 3. I really don’t want to quit at this crucial moment…but I can’t keep going at Capcom. I am too tired to keep going. I wanted to leave Capcom to recharge my energy, and support Capcom from there, but it seems they don’t allow it. I want to make all my effort to keep Legends 3 alive, but I’m really not sure I can do it.”

3.- Monster Hunter Tri G is at the Tokyo Game Show and photos of the manual have been posted online. What’s interesting though is the manuals are in English.
This might be so the international press can understand the controls, but some people are taking it as a hint that there may already be plans to localise the game. It’s not a lot to go on, but some hope is better than no hope.

4.- Square Enix has released some 3D screenshots for Heroes of Ruin. You can click here for instructions on how to download and view the images. Here they are in 2D.

Gamestop is partnering with Nintendo to hold events known as Nintendo 3DS Connect + Play. The point is to bring people together to play 3DS games and exchange StreetPass data, meaning they’re similar to the fan-made StreetPass meet-ups, only a bit more official. They will be held at all Gamestop locations in the United States starting this Saturday. You can click here for all the official details.

5.- According to reports, Beyond the Labyrinth has a grid-based system of movement and you are only allowed to move one square at a time. The battle system consists of real-time turn-based battles in which you have to hit enemies with their elemental weakness.

There is a twist, though. The girl companion will join you in battle, but you must protect her. She cannot attack enemies and instead talks to the players during battle.

6.- Avni Yerli, the founder of Crytek has said, in reference to the dev kit for the Wii U that:

The specs are very good. It's a challenge for designers, but once thought through it can add value, and that's what ultimately important. Our guys in Nottingham, they are very happy with their tests on the dev kits and they're excited about it.
...and that's a solid endorsement from the company that makes games like Far Cry and Crysis. Let's hope it actually leads to something interesting.

7.- Rare used to create some of the best video games ever, but since their take-over by Microsoft in 2002 the studio has failed to create the magical titles that adorned their past.

Anyway, it’s certainly interesting to see inside their fabled studios even though the majority of it appears to be filled with more recent memorabilia.

Noticias Nuevas - Nintendo 3DS
