Information Update - Nintendo 3DS & PSVita

1.- Ryan McDougall of Capcom has revealed that the slider pad will be available in North America before Resident Evil: Revelations is released on February 7th.
More After the Break...

We’re not sure if it’ll be bundled with the game though.

Nintendo World Report has uploaded nine minutes of high quality Super Mario 3D Land footage from this years Comic Con. Whilst the person who was playing the actual game didn’t provide the greatest demonstration, it still gives a good look at how some of the levels play.

Super Mario 3D Land is due out November 18th in Europe and November 13th in North America.

2.- The Legend of Zelda producer Eiji Aonuma has revealed that The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword was originally meant to be played using buttons.

Aonuma stated that it was only after Hidemaro Fujibayashi suggested that he use Wii MotionPlus that the precise Wii Remote sword swinging came into play.

IGN previously reported that The Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword for Wii would feature a left-handed mode, well it turns out this information is actually incorrect and that the game doesn’t feature such a mode. Not great news for those of you who are left-handed.

Zelda producer Eiji Aonuma mentioned on the latest edition of Iwata Asks that The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword originally featured an item called Rocket Fists which eventually turned into the beetle item.

“At first, it was a boomerang. We thought it might fun if you could tilt the Wii Remote Plus so it flew however you wanted and tried out some things, but then we started talking about how that simply wasn’t much like a boomerang.”
“And it had a camera. We wanted to think of an item that would fit better with that feature and came up with rocket fists.
“At that time, it could also grab things, so we thought it would be cool if something like a hand were flying around.”
“In the end, it turned into a beetle. The way it looks like it flies out from your arm is leftover from the rocket fist.”

3.- Theatrhythm Final Fantasy is a rhythm game based on the Final Fantasy universe. We’ve seen a bit of it in the past, but there’s some fresh gameplay footage:

4.- Capcom has announced via its support page that Monster Hunter Tri G won’t feature online cooperative play.

You’ll still be able to use your internet connection to download event quests in the game, but to play cooperatively with other people you’ll have to play locally I’m afraid.

5.- Level-5 hosted a live stream over the weekend to show off a bunch of their projects. One of those was Time Travelers, and you can check out a trailer for the game.

It’s set to be released in 2012 for the 3DS, Vita, and PSP and you can click here to find more out about the story.

GameFly has listed Myst for the 3DS, suggesting that the game may be coming to the handheld. It’s could be a data entry mistake, but supposedly Maximum Family Games is publishing it, which wouldn’t be too strange.

Square Enix has released a bunch of screenshots from Heroes of Ruin, all of which are in 3D. You can visitthis page on your 3DS to check them out in 3D.

6.- Peter Moore, Electronic Arts new Chief Operating Officer has revealed what his development team find most interesting with Wii U. I’ll give you a hint, it has something to do with the second screen.

You recently reassured the market that you are fully onboard the Wii U with your key franchises. What are your developers finding most exciting about the Wii U?
They’re still working with the software development kits, Jason. And as always happens, Nintendo continues to deliver updates to the SDK, and we find cool and interesting things there. I think the broader element is the idea of a second screen, which is something that many of us do now. I don’t know about you, but watching TV I find myself either sitting with my laptop doing emails or my iPad browsing the web while the TV is going on in front of me. I think I’m watching it, depending on what it is. Obviously if it’s a sports event, then I’m giving it my full attention, but anything else and it’s probably only getting 40 per cent of my attention and I’m pretending to my wife that I’m watching TV with her. But the second screen mentality, it’s not only doing something different, but also every now and then you are watching TV and have a question and it’s fascinating now to do enquiries and find out information about something that you are watching on the main screen using your second screen. I think the concept of a second screen that it being used in tandem and in parallel to what is going on the big screen is fascinating for us as gamers, we think that is a big deal. A lot of our games are built for calling plays or strategies that you can’t see on the big screen.
