1.- We’re closing in on the Nintendo 3DS Conference 2011 and the Tokyo Game Show, so a whole lot of rumors are starting to pop up.
AMAZING RUMORS
More After the Break...
This latest batch comes from 2ch in Japan and has rumors we haven’t heard before.
The list of rumors includes:
- Monster Hunter with online play exclusively for the 3DS
- A Yoshi side-scroller made by Good-Feel
- A new game from the team that made Warioware
- Etrian Odyssey for the 3DS
- A Hatsune Miku game for the 3DS
- A new 3DS color called Solid Silver
- Super Mario 3D Land demo on the eShop
- A new mystery game for the 3DS from the famous visual novel company Alchemist
- Ace Attorney 5 with an Edgeworth scenario
Feel Good, the developers behind the fantastic Kirby’s Epic Yarn, are developing a side scrolling Yoshi game for the Nintendo 3DS. Expect to hear more about this at the Nintendo 3DS press conference next Tuesday.
Kirby’s Epic Yarn developer Good-Feel, a fifth Ace Attorney featuring Miles Edgeworth is on the way, as is a multiplatform God Eater title for 3DS and Vita, plus a new Etrian Odyssey for 3DS.
Nintendo’s also expected to announce plans to release a Super Mario Land 3D demo, and to date The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords for eShop.
The guys and girls over at Gameinformer have spent six whole hours playing new and never seen before locations in The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. They will be posting their impressions of the game in a 10-page exclusive hands-on with Skyward Sword. The issue also includes 24 pages of Zelda’s past and future.
2.- We heard the rumours and now it turns out to be true, Nintendo are adding a second Circle Pad to the Nintendo 3DS.
It’s not a revised model as previously thought but rather an attachment that slides underneath your Nintendo 3DS system. As you can see, it is cradle like in its design and the second circle pad rests next to the ABXY buttons.
“We can confirm that Nintendo does plan to release the attachment but that any further announcements on the attachment will be made at some later time by Nintendo.”
- Peripheral placed towards the right of the ABXY buttons
- Attachment has an R2 button
- This means the 3DS will have L1, R1, and R2 buttons, but not L2
- Peripheral apparently clips onto the whole 3DS (like a charger)
- Juts out 1cm at left, 2-3cm at right, 2cm at bottom, 2-3cm in thickness

3.- The latest issue of Famitsu magazine in Japan has confirmed that Monster Hunter Tri G is coming to the 3DS. Don’t get too excited yet, but “the game will reportedly retain the water elements of Wii’s Monster Hunter 3 and will offer local wireless play.”
Along with the announcement of the Nintendo 3DS gaining a second analogue peripheral comes the news that Monster Hunter Tri 3G will be coming to the Nintendo 3DS this year.
The game is an adaptation of Monster Hunter Tri for Wii and will reportedly feature 12 weapon classes, underwater battles, local multiplayer, potential online components, and will support the second analogue stick.
It’s mentioned that the “release is planned for the end of the year,” it'd be really optimistic to think the game would come out this year, so it might be poorly worded. The above image is our first look at Monster Hunter Tri G on the 3DS.

4.- We have new screenshots from Rhythm Thief & The Emperor’s Treasure that show off quite a bit of the game including some of the gameplay mechanics that will be used. Click on the link for the full gallery, here's the highlights:
5.- Ace Combat is coming to the 3DS in the fourth quarter of 2011 and you can check out a gallery of new screenshots to hold you over until then. Highlights:
6.- K’Nex have been hard at work creating Mario Kart themed tracks which will make their debut at Toys ‘R Us.
- Mario Kart Wii Bowser’s Castle Ultimate building set features a multi-level castle with 650 pieces.
- Mario Kart Bowser vs. Fireballs building set contains 122 pieces, including Bowser’s Castle and a Fireball.
- Mario Kart Mario and Yoshi at the Finish Line building set creates a 317-piece traditional race track with a photo-finish line and racetrack sounds.
- Mario Kart Mario vs. Delfino Oak Tree building set features an oak tree as a course obstacle in this 139-piece course.
7.- Usage fees suck. But it's something you have to put up with a lot of the time if you're playing an online RPG, and it sounds like Dragon Quest X Online may be no exception.
The game, which is coming to both the Wii and Wii U will have a monthly subscription fee, although it's not clear at the moment. Either way, you can check out the first direct-feed screenshot above, so that's cool.
MONSTER HUNTER PRESS.- I’m sure you are all aware that Famitsu announced Monster Hunter Tri G for the Nintendo 3DS along with the second Nintendo 3DS Circle Pad last night, now we finally have somemore details about both Monster Hunter Tri G and the additional Circle Pad add-on.

“The entire game has 3D support, but basically it’s not a game designed to rely on 3D,” Fujioka responded when asked how the new 3D visuals impact gameplay. “You can hunt all you want without having to concern yourself about 3D, so you’ve got the option to play the way you like there. However, the new portside area we’ve made for the game was created with an eye for 3D visuals — giving it more depth, placing objects on top of each other, and other concepts to make the 3D more prevalent. It’s been a fun development cycle, but working with 3D has also given us a surprising amount of stress, so hopefully people turn on the 3D the first time they play!”
“The bottom screen will have a panel with assorted useful functions for hunting; you’ll be able to tap on things to use it,” Fujioka said. “There are several types of panel, too, so you can choose which one you’d like to display and play like that.” How so? Producer Ryozo Tsujimoto gave one example: “There’s a target camera panel that, if you turn it on when you’re in the same area as the target monster for the current quest, the camera will turn you toward the monster whenever you reset it.”
There is also, of course, the slide-pad attachment, which Tsujimoto called a “secret weapon” crafted so players could play 3G with the same control feel as the original Tri. “It feels really good holding it in your hand,” he said, “and its center of gravity is toward the front, so controlling it is a breeze.”
“Brute Wyverns up to now were largely seen as charging monsters,” Fujioka commented. “A lot of them didn’t use their front arms very much. As a result, we put a lot of that sort of thing into this monster, making its arms a lot larger and capable of punching things. It also headbutts its enemies, so it’s got a pretty straightforward fighting style, but when it punches, it also releases this sticky material on the ground that gradually builds up and explodes over time. Blakydios’s moves are pretty simple, but it’s spewing this goo all over the place, so players have to a close eye on their positioning at all times.”
“There will be 12 types,” Fujioka said, “filling out the set of genres we’ve introduced up to this point. All of the weapons will be operable in the underwater areas, too. The bowgun in Tri had a lot of customization skills, but that weapon’s going to be streamlined a bit and divided into ‘light’ and ‘heavy’ categories. The bowgun has a lot of new features nonetheless, though, so I’m hoping bowgun users run it up to the G level and get to check all of it out.”
